Supportive Services: Counselor for Up on Sunday Program

Hours: Sundays, 10:45 AM – 3:00 PM
Seasonal: School Year 

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Job Summary: We are seeking a Counselor to join our Sunday program, working with individuals with disabilities aged 6-22. As a Counselor, you will support your Lead Counselor in overseeing a group of participants, ensuring their safety, facilitating activities, and supporting their social relationships. Groups are divided based on age, and you will work closely with the on-site Program Manager to maintain smooth and effective program operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and supervise a group of individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain open communication with the on-site Program Manager.
  • Plan with your Lead Counselor and facilitate activities, following the daily schedule.
  • Manage behaviors and provide positive behavior support as needed.
  • Support the development of social relationships among participants.
  • Assist with activity development and implementation.
  • Ensure a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participants.

Qualifications:

  • Reliable and able to commit to all required Sundays.
  • Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Timely, flexible, and able to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong behavior management skills.
  • Ability to support and encourage social interactions among participants.
